Born in Winchester, Kentucky; sometimes credited as Gregory Rogers. Writer who entered American film at Paramount Famous Lasky with AFRAID TO LOVE (1927). He wrote titles and adapted screenplays (alone or in collaboration) until 1929: IF I WERE SINGLE and HUSBANDS FOR RENT (both also 1927), TENDERLOIN, WOMEN THEN TALK ABOUT, THE BARKER and CONQUEST (all 1928), THE REDEEMING SIN, NO DEFENSE, THE GREYHOUND LIMITED and HARDBOILED ROSE (all 1929). With the advent of talkies, he wrote screenplays and adapted some stories from silents (alone or in collaboration): SAY IT WITH SONGS and IS EVERYBODY HAPPY? (both 1929), SECOND CHOICE, BE YOURSELF!, MAMMY, THOSE WHO DANCE, THE SECOND FLOOR MYSTERY, DANCING SWEETIES, OH, SAILOR BEWARE, MAYBE IT'S LOVE and MAN TO MAN (all 1930), FIFTY MILLION FRENCHMEN, GOD'S GIFT TO WOMEN, SMART MONEY and SAFE IN HELL (all 1931) and HIGH PRESSURE, BEAUTY AND THE BOSS, THE MOUTHPIECE, THE DARK HORSE and ONE WAY PASSAGE (all 1932).
