La Fiesta de Santa Barbara (1936)
Born in Houston, TX. Entered American film as story writer for the silent SKY EVE (1920) at William Steiner Productions. He also wrote MARY OF THE MOVIES (1923). After a short stint as a presenter of MARY OF THE MOVIES and THE CARNIVAL GIRL (1926) and as producer of SCREEN SNAPSHOTS NO. 2 (1925) at Pathé, with the advent of the sound era he became a producer and director for the "Hollywood on Parade" series of shorts at Paramount from 1932 until 1934. Other comedy/documentary shorts as producer include STAR NIGHT AT THE COCOANUT GROVE (1934), PIRATE PARTY ON CATALINA ISLAND (1935), SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE TROCADERO and HOLLYWOOD PARTY (both 1937), BILLY ROSE'S CASA MAÑANA REVUE, HOLLYWOOD HANDICAP and STREAMLINED SWING (all 1938), LOVE ON TAP and HOLLYWOD HOBBIES (both 1939) and RODEO DOUGH (1940). Short subject directing credits include RURAL MEXICO and LA FIESTA DE SANTA BARBARA (both 1935) and AQUA ANTICS and ACRO-BATTY (both 1942).
