George Marion, Jr.
(1899 - 1968)

Born in Boston, Massachusetts. Entered American film as a title writer for THE EAGLE (1925) and wrote title for 80 more silents through 1929. Some of his notalbe talkies credits (alone or in collaboration) include NO LIMIT (1931), LOVE ME TONIGHT and THE BIG BROADCAST (both 1932), ADORABLE (1933), WE'RE NOT DRESSING, THE GAY DIVORCÉE and COLLEGE RHYTHM (all 1934), TWO FOR TONIGHT and METROPOLITAN (both 1935), THREE CHEERS FOR LOVE (1936), FIFTY RACES TO TOWN (1937), THE GLADIATOR (1938, add'l dialogue), YOU CAN'T CHEAT AN HONEST MAN (1939) and TOO MANY GIRLS (1940, from his book of musical play).

   Nominated for Title Writing 1927-8: This nomination was not associated with any specific film title, but Marion worked on OH KAY! in 1927-28.
