Born in Indiana, USA. Recording engineer from the advent of sound in Hollywood who started at Paramount in 1929 with THE DANCE OF LIFE and WHY BRING THAT UP? Other notable recording credits include STREET OF CHANCE and MOROCCO (uncredited) (both 1930), AN AMERICAN TRAGEDY (1931, uncredited), THE SCARLET EMPRESS (uncredited) and BELLE OF THE NINETIES (both 1934), THE DEVIL IS A WOMAN (uncredited) and PETER IBBETSON (both 1935), DESIRE, AND SUDDEN DEATH and THE GENERAL DIED AT DAWN (all 1936), CHAMPAGNE WALTZ, SOULS AT SEA and ANGEL (all 1937), BLUEBEARD'S EIGHTH WIFE, COCOANUT GROVE and SPAWN OF THE NORTH (all 1938), SULLIVAN'S TRAVELS (1941), STAR SPANGLED RHYTHM (1942), HERE COMES THE GROOM and RHUBARB (both 1951), HOUDINI (1953), "Lassie" (1954, TV series), THE LAST HURRAH (1958), THE TINGLER (1959), ELMER GANTRY and 13 GHOSTS (both 1960) and THE YOUNG SAVAGES and TWO RODE TOGETHER (both 1961).
