Hermes Pan

Born Hermes Panagliotopoulos in Memphis, Tennessee. Choreographed many of Hollywood's most successful musical films, notably those of Fred Astaire and of Betty Grable, winning an Academy Award for A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS (1937). Noted for his remarkable resemblance to Fred Astaire, Pan often served as a "double" during the planning of the dance sequences in Astaire's films. He danced on screen with both Grable and Rita Hayworth.
