Ralph Rainger

A former lawyer, he wrote stock music and many film songs of the 30s and early 40s, usually in collaboration with Leo Robin. His music and songs have been used in over 120 movies. Some of Rainger's notable non-nominated songs written with Robin include "Blue Hawaii," "Dreaming Out Loud," "Ebb Tide," "Havin' Myself a Time," "I Wished on the Moon" (w. Dorothy Parker), "Jungle Love," "Long Ago and Far Away" and "Please."

Rainger was killed in a plane crash in 1942.
