The Informer (1935)
Born in Delaware, OH. Production executive who entered American film at RKO as an associate producer of John Ford's THE LOST PATROL (1934). During the next eight years, he would produce or associate produce over 50 films at the studio, including THE INFORMER, THE ARIZONAN, THE THREE MUSKETEERS and ANNIE OAKLEY (all 1935), YELLOW DUST (1936), CHINA PASSAGE (1937), BRINGING UP BABY (1938), MEXICAN SPITFIRE (1941) and SING YOUR WORRIES AWAY and THE MAYOR OF 44TH STREET (both 1942). Reid was associate producer of Ford's THEY WERE EXPENDABLE (1945) and produced Norman Taurog's THE HOODLUM SAINT (1946) at MGM. His last film was Irwin Allen's THE LOST WORLD (1960) at 20th Century-Fox (associate producer).
