Winfield R. Sheehan
(1883 - 1945)

Born in Buffalo, NY. His first recorded film credit is as supervisor of Howard Hawks' FIG LEAVES and Fox in 1926. Sheehan was chief of production at the studio from the late 1920s until 1935, when the studio merged with Twentieth Century -- a production firm established two years earlier by Joseph M. Schenck and Darryl F. Zanuck.

Some of Sheehan's non-nominated producing credits include THE BLACK WATCH (1929), THE BIG TRAIL (1930), STAND UP AND CHEER! (1934), THE FARMER TAKES A WIFE, CURLY TOP, BAD BOY and WAY DOWN EAST (1935). After he left Fox, Sheehan produced two more films: FLORIAN (1940) at MGM and CAPTAIN EDDIE (1945) at 20th Century-Fox.
