Louis Silvers
(1899 - 1954)

Born in New York City. Silvers scored the first talking picture, THE JAZZ SINGER (1927), and remained at Warner Bros. until 1931. He then worked at several other studios as musical director, conductor and composer until his retirement from films in 1946. He was music director for C.B. De Mille's "Lux Radio Theatre" for most of its long run (1934-1954).
