Dickens began his career in British films and television, editing sound and picture for such productions as THE PRESENT (1991, picture), THE RUNNER (1992, sound), "The Comic Strip Presents..." (1992-3, TV - sound, 1993-2000 picture), THE SECRET ADVENTURES OF TOM THUMB (1993, sound). After 1993, he worked solely editing pictures on such projects as THE SPITFIRE PILOT (1994), "Glam Metal Detectives" (1995, TV), HEARTS AND MINDS (1996), "Spaced" (1999-2001, TV series), "Hawk" (2001, TV mini-series), A SMALL WORLD and "Look Around You" (TV series) (booth 2002), OH, MARBELLA! and HELLO, FRIEND (both 2003), SHAUN OF THE DEAD and SEED OF CHUCKY (both 2004), GOAL! (2005), HOT FUZZ and GONE (both 2007), and A COMLETE HISTORY OF MY SEXUAL FAILURES and SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE (both 2008).
