R. Dale Butts
(1910 - 1990)


Flame of Barbary Coast (1945)
Born in Lamasco, KY. For thirteen years, Butts was the chief pianist and arranger for NBC Radio in Chicago. He left for Hollywood in 1941 and joined Republic Studios as staff composer in 1943. From 1944 to 1956, he composed music for almost 80 films.

He was married to singer Dale Evans from 1937 until 1946.
