Born in Idaho, USA. Entered American film as an associate art director for DANGEROUS NUMBER at MGM in 1937. Other associate credits include THE BRIDE WORE RED (also 1937), TOO HOT TO HANDLE (1938), LET FREEDOM RING (1939), STRANGE CARGO (1940), ZIEGFELD GIRL, DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE, SMILIN' THROUGH and TWO-FACED WOMAN (all 1941), WHITE CARGO (1942), and THOUSANDS CHEER (1943).
