William E. Garity

Fantasia (1940)
Born in New York City. Sound recordist whose credits first appear in FIREBRAND JORDAY (1930). Other credits include BEYOND THE RIO GRANDE and RIDIN' LAW (also 1930). He was also production supervisor for "The Woody Woodpecker Show" (1957). Garity was a key figure in the invention and development of one of the earliest stereophonic sound systems, "Fantasound," for Walt Disney's FANTASIA (1940).
