Walter Greene
(1910 - 1983)

Born in Tarkio, MO. Composer, music arranger and musical director who entered American film in 1945 with WHY GIRLS LEAVE HOME, for which he received an Oscar® nomination. He continued to work as a musical director for the next 25 years. His composing credits, which begin with CRIME, INC. for Producers Releasing Corp. in 1945, stretch for 33 years and cover over over 200 films and cartoons. In 1957, Greene began working as composer for "The Woody Woodpecker Show." He also composed for "Tarzan" and "The Road Runner Show" in 1966. That year also marked the beginning of his long association with the DePatie-Freleng series of "Pink Panther" cartoons, which lasted until 1978.
