Sol Halperin
(1902 - 1977) Sometimes credited as Sol Halprin
Born in Newark, NJ. Cinematographer and, later, process photographer whose credits begin with WILD WEST ROMANCE at Fox in 1928. Other cinematography credits include GIRL-SHY COWBOY and TALKING A CHANCE (also 1928), MARRIED IN HOLLYWOOD (1929), and DOUBLE CROSS ROADS (1930). He worked on process photography and transparency projection for THINK FAST, MR. MOTO (1937), STANLEY AND LIVINGSTONE (1939), CAPTAIN EDDIE (1945) and SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY (1946). He was on the camera crew of THE BIG TRAIL (1930) and THE DEVIL'S IN LOVE (1933), and second unit director for THE RAINS CAME (1939).
Halperin served two terms as president of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) from 1966-1969 and 1970-1973. He is the uncle of cinematographer Richard H. Kline.
