Art director who entered American film as an associate on LUCKY LEGS at Columbia in 1942. Other notable credits, alone or in collaboration, include WOLF IN THIEF'S CLOTHING, IT'S A GREAT LIFE and APPOINTMENT IN BERLIN (all 1943), ADDRESS UNKNOWN, LOUISIANA HAYRIDE and STRANGE AFFAIR (all 1944), SNAFU (1945), THE JOLSON STORY (1946), THE GUILT OF JANET ADAMS (1947), THE WOMAN FROM TANGIER (1948), JOLSON SINGS AGAIN (1949), THE KILLER THAT STALKED NEW YORK (1950), THE SON OF DR. JEKYLL (1951), THE SNIPER and AFFAIR IN TRINIDAD (both 1952), THE WILD ONE (1953), PUSHOVER (1954), MY SISTER EILEEN (1955), THE EDDY DUCHIN STORY (1956), PAL JOEY (1957), ME AND THE COLONEL (1958), SNAPPY BULLFIGHTERS (1959), SONG WITHOUT END (1960), CRY FOR HAPPY and GIDGET GOES HAWAIIAN (both 1961), 13 WEST STREET (1962), CATTLE KING (1963), and his last feature, WINTER A-GO-GO (1965).

In 1959, Holscher began working in television. His series credits in that medium include "Behind Closed Door", "Hazel", "The Twilight Zone", "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C." and "The Andy Griffith Show."
