Born in Nashville, TN. A child star of the late 40s, he won a special Academy Award for his film debut in THE YEARLING (1946). He also played a memorable role in INTRUDER IN THE DUST (1949) but gradually faded into obscurity. As an adult, he served as executive director of the San Francisco Film Festival and was executive producer of the rock-concert feature film FILLMORE (1972). He is also the manager of the San Francisco Opera House.

 Special Award 1946: Outstanding child actor of 1946. Winner presented a Miniature Statuette.
