Joseph Kish
(1899 - 1969)

Set decorator who entered American film as an interior decorator for LUCKY LEGS at Columbia in 1942. Some of his notable credits, alone or in collaboration, in over 125 films (especially Westerns) include IT'S A GREAT LIFE (1943), LIFE WITH BLONDIE (1945), JOAN OF ARC and 3 GODFATHERS (both 1948), SHE WORE A YELLOW RIBBON (1949), WAGON MASTER (1950), INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS and FRIENDLY PERSUASION (both 1956), THE DEFIANT ONES (1958), RETURN OF THE FLY, JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH and THE OREGON TRAIL (all 1959), THE LOST WORLD (1960), IT'S A MAD MAD MAD MAD WORLD (1963), THE LIVELY SET (1964), SHIP OF FOOLS and THE SLENDER THREAD (both 1965), and his last film, AND NOW MIGUEL (1966).
