Vincent Korda

Born Vincze Kellner in Türkeve, Austria-Hungary (now Hungary). A gifted artist, trained in Budapest, Vienna, Florence and Paris and emigraged to Britain in 1932. He often collaborated with his director brothers Alexander (1893-1956) and Zoltan Korda (1895-1961), and created impressive sets for other directors as well. At his best with large-scale productions.

Among his production design credits are REMBRANDT and THE MAN WHO COULD WORK MIRACLES (both 1936), THE DRUM (1938), THE FOUR FEATHERS and THE SPY IN BLACK (both 1939), 21 DAYS and THE THIEF OF BAGDAD (both 1940), OLD BILL AND SON, THAT HAMILTON WOMAN, MAJOR BARBARA and LYDIA (all 1941), TO BE OR NOT TO BE and JUNGLE BOOK (both 1942), BONNIE PRINCE CHARLIE (1948), OUTCAST OF THE ISLANDS (1952), MALAGA (1954), SUMMERTIME, THE DEEP BLUE SEA and STORM OVER THE NILE (uncredited) (all 1955), and SCENT OF MYSTERY (1960).
