Arthur Lange

Composer, songwriter, author, arranger and conductor, educated in private music study and later an arranger for Broadway musicals and dance orchestras. In 1929, he became the head of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer music department, and assumed similar duties at other film studios. Between 1947 and 1956 he conducted the Santa Monica Civic Symphony, which he had organized. He joined ASCAP in 1924.

His daughter was actress Hope Lange (1931 - 2003).
