Born in Sidney, OH. Set decorator at MGM who started as an associate for CAIRO (1942). Other associate credits include PRESENTING LILY MARS (1943), KISMET (1944), ANCHORS AWEIGH (1945), TILL THE CLOUDS ROLL BY (1946), CASS TIMBERLANE (1947), SUMMER HOLIDAY (1948), ANNIE GET YOUR GUN (1950), and MR. IMPERIUM and SHOW BOAT (both 1951). As set decorator, alone or in collaboration, Pefferle's credits include A DATE WITH JUDY and WORDS AND MUSIC (both 1948), MADAME BOVARY (1949), THE TOAST OF NEW ORLEANS (1950), THE PRISONER OF ZENDA and MILLION DOLLAR MERMAID (both 1952), KISS ME KATE (1953), THE GLASS SLIPPER (1955), MEET ME IN LAS VEGAS, THE POWER AND THE PRIZE, SLANDER! and HIGH SOCIETY (all 1956), LES GIRLS (1957), MERRY ANDREW (1958), NEVER SO FEW (1959), ATLANTIS, THE LOST CONTINENT (1960), FURY RIVER (1961), THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF THE BROTHERS GRIMM and PERIOD OF ADJUSTMENT (both 1952), THE PRIZE (1963), THE KARATE KILLERS (1967), WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT? and IF HE HOLLERS, LET HIM GO! (both 1968), and his last film, THE MALTESE BIPPY (1969). In television from 1958, Pefferle was set decorator for episodes of "Northwest Passage", "The Lawless Years" and "The Man from U.N.C.L.E."
