Born in Streator, IL. Composer, orchestrator and musical director in the 1940s and 50s at Disney. In addition to his Oscar®-nominated films, his credits -- alone or in collaboration -- include orchestrations for FANTASIA (1940), DUMBO (1941), MONSIERU BEAUCLAIRE and SONG OF THE SOUGH (both 1946), CALCUTTA (1947), SO DEAR TO MY HEART (1948), PETER PAN (1953), DAVY CROCKETT, KING OF THE WILD FRONTIER and LADY AND THE TRAMP (both 1955), SECRETS OF LIFE and WESTWARD HO THE WAGONS! (both 1956) and JOHNNY TREMAINE (1957). He also composed and did orchestrations for episodes of the "Disneyland" television series.
