Born in New York City. Art director, associate producer and production manager who entered American film with TRES AMORES at Goldsmith Productions in 1934. He worked in "B" movies -- especially at Harry Sherman Prods. -- during the 1930s and early 40s. In 1941, he began working as an associate producer of "B" westerns at Paramount with THE PARSON OF PANAMINT. He continued in this position into the 1950s, then produced GIDGET and THE 30 FOOT BRIDE OF CANDY ROCK (both 1959), A RAGE TO LIVE (1965), HAWAII (1966), INSPECTOR CLOUSEAU (1968), TRADER HORN (1973), and FOOTLOOSE and PROTOCOL (both 1984). Rachmil was an assistant to the producer for MISS SADIE THOMPSON (1953).
