David Raksin
(1912 - 2004)

Born in Philadelphia, PA. He studied under Arnold Schoenberg and composed orchestral and chamber works as well as music for ballet, stage, TV, and films. He arranged Chaplin's music for MODERN TIMES (1936) and is perhaps best known as the composer of the theme song from LAURA (1944).
