Sid Rogell
(1900 - 1973)

Born in St. Joseph, MO; moved as a child with his family to Spokane, WA. Producer who entered American film as business manager for THE WAGON SHOW (1928) at First National Pictures. He became an associate producer at Warners for RIDE HIM, COWBOY in 1932. He was associate producer for several more westerns during 1932 and 1933. In 1934, he became a producer, and his first feature was THE HELL CAT. Moving up the ladder to executive or supervising producer at RKO in 1944, his other notable producing credits include MADEMOISELLE FIFI and MURDER, MY SWEET (both 1944), ZOMBIES ON BROADWAY and DICK TRACY (both 1945), SAN QUENTIN (1946), DESIGN FOR DEATH (1947), I MARRIED A COMMUNIST (1949), BORN TO BE BAD (1950), MY FORBIDDEN PAST (1951), and ON DANGEROUS GROUND and his last film, AT SWORD'S POINT (both 1952).

His brother was director Albert S. Rogell (1901-1988).
