Born in Jessup, PA. Producer who entered American film as an associate at Paramount for TRUE TO THE ARMY in 1942. Other producing credits include FRAMED (1947), THE MAN FROM COLORADO (1948), ILLEGAL ENTRY (1949), UNION STATION (1950), THE PRIDE OF ST. LOUIS and LYDIA BAILEY (both 1952), PICKUP ON SOUTH STREET (1953), PUSHOVER (1954), THESE WILDER YEARS (1958), ONIONHEAD (1958), and his last film, A DREAM OF KINGS (1969). Schermer also produced episodes for the "Lawman", "The Virginian", "The Dakotas" and "Daniel Boone" TV series.
