Born in Lodz, Poland. Became a French citizen in 1919. Composer and musical director who entered French film with the score for Julien Duvivier's POIL DE CAROTTE in 1932. Other composing credits include LA CHÂTELAINE DU LIBAN (1934), FLESH AND FANTASY (1943), DESTINY (1944), PARIS UNDERGROUND (1945), and SISTER KENNY (1946).
