Dialogue and screenwriter who entered Italian film in 1938 with LUCIANO SERRA PILOTA. Other notable credits, alone or in collaboration, include NAPOLI CHE NON MUORE (1939), PRIMO AMORE and TURBINE (both 1941), ANGELO DEL CREPUSCOLO (1942), I PAGLIACCI (1943), I BAMBINI CI GUARDANO (1944, from his novel Pricó), SCIUSCIÀ (1946), and ALTAIR (1960).  Nominated for Writing (Original Screenplay) 1947: SHOESHINE (w.
