Darrell Ware
(1906 - 1944)

Born in Plainview, Minnesota; educated at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. Writer who entered American film with the Walter Catlett comedy short FIBBING FIBBERS at Columbia in 1936. Other writing credits, alone or in collaboration, include BIG TOWN GIRL (1937), SUBMARINE PATROL (1938), CHARLIE McCARTHY, DETECTIVE (1939), DOWN ARGENTINE WAY and PUBLIC DEB NO. 1 (both 1940), TALL, DARK AND HANDSOME and A YANK IN THE R.A.F. (both 1941), MY GAL SAL and ORCHESTRA WIVES (both 1942), DIXIE (1943), STANDING ROOM ONLY (1944), and his last film, KITTY (also assoc. producer, released in 1945). The screenplay of TALL, DARK AND HANDSOME was adapted for the 1950 film, LOVE THAT BRUTE.
