Martin Luther (1953)
Born in Paris, France. Cinematographer who entered American film with Robert Siodmak's THE WHISTLE AT EATON FALLS (1951) at Colubmia. Other early notable non-nominated credits in the US include THE JOE LOUIS STORY (1953) and CINERAMA HOLIDAY (1955). He worked briefly in Europe in 1955 and 1956, photographing VOM HIMMEL GEFALLEN, LES NUITS DE MONTMARTRE, Brigitte Bardot's NAUGHTY GIRL / CETTE SACRÉE GAMINE, and IMPASSE DES VERTUS. Brun returned to the US in 1957 to shoot Martin Ritt's EDGE OF THE CITY. Other subsequent credits include ODDS AGAINST TOMORROW (1959), HATARI! (1962, assoc. photog.), FLIPPER (1963), SLAVES, Truman Capote's TRILOGY and EXPLOSION (all 1969), and his last film, THE 300 YEAR WEEKEND (1971).
