Clavé
(1913 - 2005)

Born in Barcelona, Spain. Master artist Antoni Clavé was one of Spain's best known painters, printmakers, sculptors and theatrical designers. Trained at the School of Fine Arts, Barcelona, his most characteristic work is considered to be "Lyrical Abstractions," which consisted of paint over collage. As a theatrical designer, his most famous work is considered to be the set and costume designs he created for Roland Pettit's ballet company.
