Louis Diage
(1905 - 1979)

Born in Illinois, USA. Set decorator who entered American film working props for TELL YOUR CHILDREN (a.k.a. "Reefer Madness,"1938) at Motion Picture Ventures, Inc. His first set decorating credit is IS EVERYBODY HAPPY?, a 1943 Charles Barton musical starring bandleader Ted Lewis at Columbia. Other notable (non-nominated) credits (alone or in collaboration) include THE RETURN OF THE VAMPIRE (1944), THE JOLSON STORY (1946), DEAD RECKONING (1947), ALL THE KING'S MEN (1949), THE FOUR POSTER (1952), MISS SADIE THOMPSON and THE WILD ONE (both 1953), QUEEN BEE (1955), 13 GHOSTS (1960), A RAISIN IN THE SUN and THE DEVIL AT 4 O'CLOCK (both 1961) and his last film, THE NOTORIOUS LANDLADY (1962). He spent the last five years of his career working in television, retiring in 1967.
