Set decorator who entered American film with JOURNEY INTO FEAR (1942) at RKO. Other notable (non-nominated) credits (alone or in collaboration) include EVER SINCE VENUS (1944), MONSIEUR BEAUCAIRE (1946), THE BIG CLOCK and A FOREIGN AFFAIR (both 1948), RED, HOT AND BLUE (1949), COPPER CANYON (1950), THE LEMON DROP KID, RHUBARB and WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE (all 1951), ROAD TO BALI and COME BACK, LITTLE SHEBA (both 1952), BOTANY BAY (1953), CASANOVA'S BIG NIGHT (1954), DEATH OF A SCOUNDREL (1956), THE UNHOLY WIFE (1957) and RUN SILENT RUN DEEP (1958). He worked on the TV series "Maverick" (1957) and "My Living Doll" (1964).
