Born in New York City. Motion picture story writer who entered American film with ESCAPE TO GLORY (1940, w. Sidney Biddell) at Columbia. Other notable non-nominated credits (alone or in collaboration) include HARMON OF MICHIGAN (1941), UNCONQUERED (1947), SAMSON AND DELILAH (1949), THE TEN COMMANDMENTS (1956), EL CID (also 1961, screenplay and story), and episodes of the "Waterfront", "Sugarfoot" and "Hazel" television series.
