Clarence Greene

Born in New York City. Formed a partnership with director Russell Rouse which resulted in a number of unconventional films. They shared an Academy Award nomination for the story and screenplay of THE WELL (1951) and won the Oscar® for the story of PILLOW TALK (1959). Greene also co-produced and wrote for the TV series "Tightrope." His writer-producer screen credits also include THE TOWN WENT WILD (1944), THE THIEF (1952), WICKED WOMAN (1953), NEW YORK CONFIDENTIAL (1955), A HOUSE IS NOT A HOME (1964) and THE OSCAR (1966). He and Rouse also wrote the original D.O.A. (1950). Greene co-wrote and produced UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECTS: THE TRUE STORY OF FLYING SAUCERS and THE FASTEST GUN ALIVE (both 1956), THE GUN RUNNERS (1958), THUNDER IN THE SUN (1959), and THE CAPER OF THE GOLDEN BULLS (1967) with Rouse.
