Jed Harris
(1900 - 1979)

Born Jacob Horowitz in Vienna, Austria-Hungary (now Austria). Playwright, producer, director and story writer whose film and TV credits include COQUETTE (1929, producer - stage play), BROADWAY (1929, author of play), "The Billy Rose Show" (1950, TV - director), THE LIGHT TOUCH (1952, story), NIGHT PEOPLE (1954, story) and OPERATION MAD BALL (1957, screenplay and producer).

Harris was a producer and director on Broadway from 1925 (Weak Sisters) until 1956 (Child of Fortune). Some of his other notable Broadway credits include The Royal Family (1927), The Front Page (1928), Uncle Vanya (1930), Wonder Boy (1931), A Doll's House (1937), Our Town (1938), The Heiress (1947) and The Crucible (1953).
