The Quiet Man (1952)

Born in New York, USA. Art director who entered American film in 1944 with MY BUDDY at Republic. He remained at the studio for eleven years and worked on over 100 films, until Republic abandoned film production for TV fare in the mid-1950s. Having worked with John Ford on RIO GRANDE (1950), THE QUIET MAN (1952) and THE SUN SHINES BRIGHT (1953), Hotaling was art director for Ford's THE SEARCHERS (1956) and THE HORSE SOLDIERS (1959) after he left Republic.  Nominated for Art Direction/Set Decoration (Color) 1952: THE QUIET MAN - Art Direction 1 nomination
