Ralph S. Hurst

Giant (1956) Set decorator who entered American film as an associate on Victor Fleming's A GUY NAMED JOE (1943) at MGM. He worked as an associate and set decorator at the studio until 1954, where some of his credits as set decorator include THIRTY SECONDS OVER TOKYO (1944), ROSE MARIE and GREEN FIRE (both 1954). In 1956, he moved to Warner Bros., where he remained for the next 15 years. At Warners, some of his non-nominated credits include THE BAD SEED (1956), MARJORIE MORNINGSTAR and THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA (both 1958), RIO BRAVO and THE FBI STORY (both 1959), GYPSY (1962), MARY, MARY (1963), NEVER TOO LATE (1965), A BIG HAND FOR THE LITTLE LADY (1966), BULLITT (1968) and PLAY MISTY FOR ME (1971). His last film was THE MAN WHO LOVED CAT DANCING (1973, MGM).
