There is a gap in the record of his career until 1943, when his songs were used in CRAZY HOUSE, NATIONAL BARN DANCE and THE WOMAN OF THE TOWN. Other notable films include AFFAIR IN TRINIDAD and ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET CAPTAIN KIDD (both 1952), THE BLUE GARDENIA, TAKE ME TO TOWN, LET'S DO IT AGAIN and MISS SADIE THOMPSON (all 1953), A PRIZE OF GOLD, THE MAN FROM LARAMIE and THE LAST FRONTIER (all 1955). Lee's notable song titles include "Fire Down Below" and "The Heat Is On" (w. Ned Washington), and "The Pennsylvania Polka" (w. Zeke Manners).
