Born in Denver, CO. Prolific American songwriter whose songs were first used in SOUTH OF DIXIE (1944, as Jerry Levinson). Other notable films that featured his songs include CINDERELLA (1950), ALICE IN WONDERLAND (1951), THE STOOGE (1953), THE HANGING TREE (1959), SERGEANT RUTLEDGE (1960), FOR THOSE WHO THINK YOUNG (1964) and CAT BALLOU (1965). He composed themes and music for many television series from the mid-1950s, including "Sugarfoot," "Colt .45," "Bronco," "77 Sunset Strip," "The Alaskans," "Bourbon Street Beat," "Hawaiian Eye," "Surfside 6" and "The Roaring 20's."
