Born in Davenport, Iowa. Film editor who entered American film with SING YOU SINNERS (1938) at Paramount. During her 24 years at Paramount, she edited such films as TYPHOON (1940), LADY IN THE DARK and FRENCHMAN'S CREEK (both 1944), KITTY (1945), GOLDEN EARRINGS (1947), CAPTAIN CAREY, U.S.A. (1950), RHUBARB (1951), BOTANY BAY (1953), THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY (1955), THE PROUD AND PROFANE (1956), THE TIN STAR (1957), TEACHER'S PET and THE GEISHA BOY (both 1958), THE PLEASURE OF HIS COMPANY (1961) and THE COUNTERFEIT TRAITOR (1962). In 1963, she edited two Universal releases: FOR LOVE OR MONEY and CAPTAIN NEWMAN, M.D., and then she cut LOVE HAS MANY FACES at Columbia. Her last three films were at Universal: Roland Neame's A MAN COULD GET KILLED and GAMBIT (both 1966), and George Seaton's WHAT'S SO BAD ABOUT FEELING GOOD? (1968).
