Born in London, England. His novel Uncensored was made into WE SHALL RISE AGAIN in the UK in 1942. He entered American film in 1949 with COME TO THE STABLE at 20th Century-Fox. Other notable writing credits (alone or in collaboration) include THE FROGMEN and NO HIGHWAY (both 1951), ANGEL FACE (1952), SECOND CHANCE (1953), THE CONQUEROR (1956), SONG WITHOUT END (1960), DEAD RINGER (1964), THE REWARD (1965), JOURNEY INTO DARKNESS (1968) and THE SALZBURG CONNECTION (1972). He wrote episodes for the TV series "The 20th Century-Fox Hour," "Thriller," "Twelve O'Clock High," "The F.B.I." and "Journey to the Unknown."
