Born in Auburn, NY; educated at the University of Pennsylvania - Susquehanna. Hired by advertising giant J. Walter Thompson. It was while working for Thompson that Mosher would meet future partner Joe Connelly, and the duo quickly departed from the Thompson agency to pursue a career in radio with work on the "Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy" radio show, later writing for numerous other radio programs before serving a 12-year stint on "Amos and Andy" (both the radio and television versions).
Their first feature film credit was the collaboration on THE PRIVATE WAR OF MAJOR BENSON (1955). Mosher wrote and produced the popular TV series "Leave It to Beaver" (1957-1963), "The Munsters" (1964-1966), and "Mayberry R.F.D." (1968-1971). Other notable film writing credits include MUNSTER, GO HOME (1966), MAJOR PAYNE (1995) and the LEAVE IT TO BEAVER feature film (1997). He also wrote for the 1970 TV series "Nanny and the Professor." His other TV series producing creditis include "Bringing Up Buddy" (1960) and "Ichabod and Me" and "Calvin and the Colonel" (both 1961).
