w. husband Morris Engel The daughter of silent screen actress Mary Ruby, she was a successful magazine photographer. She and her husband, Morris Engel, received international acclaim for THE LITTLE FUGITIVE (1953), a highly imaginative film about the Coney Island adventure of a boy who is convinced he has committed murder. They followed this with another offbeat low-cost film, LOVERS AND LOLLIPOPS (1955), which she also co-directed.
