Born in Baltimore, MD. After studies at the Sorbonne and the University of Berlin, he turned to advertising. In Hollywood as screenwriter from the mid-1930s, he wrote and directed occasional films in the 50s: GO FOR BROKE! (1951), WASHINGTON STORY (1952), VALLEY OF THE KINGS (1954), THE GIRL RUSH (1955) and SPRING REUNION (1957). Some of his other notable screen- and story writing credits include A DAY AT THE RACES (1937), SONG OF THE ISLANDS and I MARRIED A WITCH (1942), UP IN ARMS (1944), BATTLEGROUND (1949), HELL IS FOR HEROES (1962) and A GATHERING OF EAGLES (1963).
Pirosh produced and wrote segments for many TV shows, including "Bonanza," "My Three Sons," "Combat!," "The Fugitive," "The Guns of Will Sonnett," "Mannix," "Hawaii Five-O," "Barnaby Jones," "Harry O" and "Ellery Queen."
