Born in Brooklyn, NY. Playwright and screenwriter who entered American film with SOUTH OF PANAMA (1941, w. Sidney Sheldon) at Producers Releasing Corp. Other notable screen credits (alone or in collaboration) include WHITE HEAT (1949), COME FILL THE CUP (1951), KING OF THE KHYBER RIFLES (1953), GREEN FIRE (1954), SHAKE HANDS WITH THE DEVIL (1959), PORTRAIT IN BLACK (also play) and MIDNIGHT LACE (both 1960). In the early 1960s he began writing and producing for television ("Burke's Law," "Mannix" and "Charlie's Angels").
