Morrie Roizman
(1912 - 1985)

Rembrandt: A Self Portrait (1954) Born in Kiev, Russia (now Ukraine). Entered American film as a film editor for Louis De Rochemont's documentary WE ARE THE MARINES (1942) at 20th Century-Fox. He edited 3 installments of Time-Life's "March of Time" series in 1946 and 1947, and in 1950 he cut Paramount News' war documentary CASSINO TO KOREA. Producer of the Oscar-nominated short documentary REMBRANDT: A SELF PORTRAIT (1954), his last project was editing Ray Phoenix's A-I documentary about the Xhosa tribe of Cape Nguru, Africa, NAKED AFRICA (a.k.a. MONDO AFRICANA) (1957).
