Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967)
Born in Jefferson City, Missouri. American-born writer who, from the late 1940s, wrote several quintessentially English comedies including GENEVIEVE (1953), THE MAGGIE (1954) and THE LADYKILLERS (1955). Rose returned to America in the late 1950s and wrote several entertaining Hollywood romps (IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD, 1963; THE FLIM-FLAM MAN, 1967; and THE SECRET OF SANTA VITTORIA, 1969), making a successful foray into drama with GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER (1967).
