Walter M. Scott
(1906 - 1989)

Born in Cleveland, OH. Hollywood set decorator at 20th Century-Fox from the 1940s to the early 1970s with almost 250 film and TV credits. He entered American film as an uncredited set dresser for MR. MOTO'S LAST WARNING (1939). Some of his early credits include THE UNDYING MONSTER and CHINA GIRL (both 1942), TONIGHT WE RAID CALAIS (1943), THE LODGER, TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT, SWEET AND LOW-DOWN and SOMETHING FOR THE BOYS (all 1944), CAPTAIN EDDIE and THE DOLLY SISTERS (both 1945), I WONDER WHO'S KISSING HER NOW and DAISY KENYON (both 1947), CALL NORTHSIDE 777 and THAT LADY IN ERMINE (both 1948), A LETTER TO THREE WIVES, I WAS A MALE WAR BRIDE, PINKY and WHIRLPOOL (all 1949) and THE GUNFIGHTER and WHERE THE SIDEWALK ENDS (both 1950). His 21 Oscar nominations include almost every major Fox release from the early 1950s until his retirement in 1972.
