Johnny Belinda (1948)
Began working in German films, first as an actress in the 1920s, then as a writer in the 30s (Robert Siodmak's ABSCHIED / FAREWELL, 1930, with Emeric Pressburger; Anatole Litvak's NIE WIEDER LIEBE / NO MORE LOVE, 1931). She left Germany and worked in Turkey (MILYON AVCILARI, 1934), France (LA PEUR and Litvak's MEYERLING, both 1936; MADEMOISELLE DOCTEUR, 1937), then England (UNDER SECRET ORDERS, 1937). Came to the US and began working in Hollywood in the late 1930s (PARADISE FOR THREE, 1938; THEY SHALL HAVE MUSIC, 1939). She collaborated on the story and/or screenplays with Allen Vincent on SONG OF LOVE (1947), JOHNNY BELINDA (1948) and THE GIRL IN WHITE (1952).
